Jazz, Burlesque, and a Solo Date to Remember

It was a week before the event, I saw a flyer online from one of my favorite places. It was for the night before Halloween. I was really intrigued by all the details on it! The visuals? Burlesque? I knew I was definitely in for an experience… I curated my outfit and had a vision of what I wanted to wear and could see myself there in it. To me, that was confirmation to go + I really felt like I needed a night out too. Something lavish & high-end. So, everything was aligned for me.

It’s the night of the event; I was extremely excited. The outfit I curated came to life and I looked and felt very beautiful, AKA prepared for the night. It was on and popping. I walked into the place; I love, love, love the layout. Lots of people, and the atmosphere screamed spooky. I also loved how the bartenders had cohesive costumes: witches. To top it off, the drinks were lovely.

I ordered me a dish called “Lamb Ragu”—it literally melted in my mouth… it was extremely good. At this point, you guys can tell that I’m satisfied & full so far lol.

The Burlesque women… so beautiful and talented, and each of them had distinct performances that were tailored to themselves. It was my first time experiencing burlesque, and they definitely made a good first impression.

I pivoted and decided to go to another location that wasn’t too far from where I was. I walked to the place… unfortunately, when I got there, the bar was already closed. With that being told to me, I went to the bar next door. The plan in my head was to grab a shot and then go back to see a bit of the performance.

When I came back, it was already closed, and I was so disappointed. However, something spontaneous happened: one of the performers came to me and proposed to go out and do something. I assumed it was to make up for my disappointment, which I didn’t mind. I’m a woman that loves adventure.

The rest of the night was pretty great. The person brought me to a high-end bar, where the ambiance matched the depth of our conversation. After, we drove around a bit seeking other places, but we ended up just continuing the conversation that we were having.

When I got home, I felt extremely fulfilled and just basked in that energy. It was truly a luxurious experience.
